1989, Walking Together,
Oil on canvas, 51cm*58cm |
|
This picture developed from a lullish painting
nevertheless managed to be accepted by a large American firm
(Rockwell Inc.)
as particularly suitable for teamwork. Students from the Muenster
School of Art were asked to paint it on a large empty
wall in the reception hall of the new branch. I was delighted.
However, the project failed because of an employee who
commented: But boss, we do not walk with a cane. -
For me the picture shows the common march of a pair coming
from the bright life and going into the dark age. - The pair is
represented by a dominating woman with their smaller man,
and he does need the condemned cane for going just.
