Men who instigate war often try to represent
this scourge of mankind as summit of efficiency of their nation.
Splendid
uniforms, parades, fascinating weapons are to underline this
impression, while the true, terrible face of such insanity
is
being kept secret. In my picture I try to show the misery of
victims in the lower left corner. The remaining larger area
serves as the advertisement for war but I hope that the
impression on the generals grimace is expressing the
grotesqueness
of war.
